Guy Medium Length Hairstyles?

My friend is asking me about a haircut. His hair is somewhat long maybe stopping at the middle of his neck. He doesn't want his hair short. It's layered right now and dark brown. He wants it somewhat choppy and unique. I'm guessing something like an artist would have.

If he's going to a hairdresser, he should tell them he wants a ';messy, bedhead look';. I'm just guessing here, but I hope I've got an accurate picture of what he wants. I would suggest he asks it to be ';razored';. If he's wanting the scene look, he may want it cut shorter in the back.





It sounds like he's got the cut he wants right now, though, maybe just not the right products. He should try a pomade, or sculpting wax, to piece his layers out. I'd recommend got2b texturizing pomade. Garnier has a ';surfer's hair'; texturizing spray which sounds good too, but I've never tried it. I'd love to use BedHead products, damn do they look sexy, but they're more expensive ($20-30 an item, versus $5-6 for the others). Oh, and if his hair isn't naturally straight, he'll probably want to use a straightening iron.

The previous answerer had sweet pics, the same as I was imagining. This pic is a bit different, a big longer. If he's not quite into the scene look, sufer hair is similar.

Those are all shorter than his hair but still pretty long. Just tell him to take one of those pictures to his stylist and he/she will cut them that way. Also, most of those styles are straight, fyi, so if his hair is curly or wavy it will look different.
