Getting your hair layered is always a good idea, especially if your hairdresser can use a razor. If you get a straight across fringe, that might not work if your hair is really curly, unless you straighten it. A side fringe could work though.
i just got my hair cut and its naturally curly. its a little past my shoulders. either get side bangs, or cut them straight across too. i also thing playing around with side bangs is super cute. bumping them up or even braiding them to the side (:
